About Us

Developing Roots

Trees are home. Throughout time, it has been proven that humanity and the earth need trees to thrive. Trees have provided security when we feel unsafe, shade when we are hot, and grounded us when life seemed uncertain. Unfortunately, many of us do not have access to trees in our daily lives and our trees are becoming depleted in urban areas. It is very likely that many of us will never own a home or be able to plant a tree in our space, but we can bring trees back into our lives through UrbnTrees.

Locally Made Pots

Some of our pots are created by local artists and feature a one-of-a-kind design. Artist Nick Jackson created this pot to complement the Green Emerald tree.

Coming to life

Why Trees?

Trees provide numerous benefits to people and urban environments. Numerous studies show people feel less anxious and stressed after looking at a tree. While outside they can provide shade, an occasional food source for bees and butterflies, and assist in city noise reduction.

Trees enhance cities through air purification and  reduction of city heat. Studies show areas with trees report less crime and increased happiness. Plus, trees offset CO2. Your Urbn tree will offset starting your car for an entire year! What's not to love?

Urbanization

In the United States it is estimated that 85% of the population lives in an urban area and that number is growing. Several cities, including Austin, face a housing crisis and need to increase the supply of housing. Unfortunately that often means a reduction of trees in urban areas. Urbn Trees is empowering people to bring trees back into their lives and urban areas by selling trees common trees that thrive in pots.
